Selecting the right instrument

Selecting the right instrument is essential to grant full compatibility with your projects requirements and to assure a state-of-art performance for each technique, by meeting deadlines on time, minimizing waste of cement and preventing damages in the jobsite.

FIRST STEP: CHOICE OF THE TECHNIQUE

DAT instruments dataloggers range is divided into two main segments:
1) some of them measure and record data in relation to depth and they are useful for the following techniques Jet grouting, Drilling, MWD, CFA, Deep mixing, Soil mixing, Vibroflotation, Diaphragm walls, Hydromills, Mineral investigation;
2) some of them measure and record data in relation to time and they are useful for the following techniques Lugeon tests, Grouting, TAM grouting.

SECOND STEP: RECORDING

The next step is to understand whether the technique requires the recording of data or not. In this regard, DAT instruments manufacture instrumentation that measure, display and record data, as well as instruments that measure and display data without recording.

The instruments which measure and visualize data are important to provide the customer with real time data in order to increase operatorsโ€™ responsiveness, following the right path.

Recording is important to show evidence of the work in progress to the Contractors or to the Project supervision companies, in order to track what has been achieved and for future analysis in office.

THIRD STEP: AUTOMATION

It is also necessary to understand if the Customer wishes to automate his work. Automation is helpful to make perfect work minimizing the possibilities of human errors. It is possible to design the project of work in the office and to transfer the setting into the datalogger, in order to let the datalogger perform the required operations.

THE CHOICE OF THE PRODUCT

The following table lists the characteristics suggested by DAT instruments for the different kinds of techniques. Customization is available upon Customerโ€™s needs.

INSTALLATION AND TRAINING

DAT instruments offer installation service and training especially for the most complex products in order to fully exploit all their features.
If a Customer already owns instruments that he uses regularly or in case of simple products, installation and training by DAT instruments technician might not be necessary.

SPARE-PARTS KIT

DAT instruments suggest adding spare-parts to the new unit when the jobsite is particularly important and with limited accessibility (such as forests, mountains, dams, etc…). A spare-parts kit avoids the machines to be stopped when some sensor may need replacement, hence keeping the jobsite fully operational and meeting projects deadlines with the highest working standards.
