Data logger for Lugeon Test : the Lugeon test allows you to assess the permeability or billing of rock formations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact this test gets its name from Maurice Lugeon (1933), a Swiss geologist who first formulated the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accordingly this test is also known as “water pressure test” or “packer test”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly it can be carried out during the advance of the drilling, using only one packer or with a complete hole by means of a pair of packers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words it is a water injection test through the drilling of rock masses that have a certain mechanical strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore the procedure for carrying out the test is to enter water under pressure into boreholes.
Besides in the boreholes a pipe for water supply is lowered with two shutters that allow to isolate the stretch of hole in which the test is to be carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you know, during each test, the following parameters are measured: injection pressure, flow rate entered and test duration after reaching the engine speed.
Again the tests are carried out for at least 5 values of the injection pressure, each kept constant for 10, 20 minutes.
In addition to this, it is possible to perform tests in advance, stopping the drilling every 2 – 5 meters, or in ascent when drilling is finished.
Obviously, the measured permeability is expressed in Lugeon Unit, where 1 Lugeon corresponds to the permeability of a rock formation that absorbs about 1 liter of water per minute, per meter, at a pressure of 10 atmospheres.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
