There will be much to interest those in the drilling industry at Bauma 2004, the world's largest construction equipment event taking place in Munich, Germany from March 29 to April 4 - the 27th International Trade Fair in the series. It addition to previewing the show here, geoDrilling International will also be visiting the show and reporting on any important new drilling products and developments. Participating companies are listed here alphabetically, and where companies have provided specific details of their exhibits, these are included - otherwise a short reference is made to the type of equipment and products the company manufactures, and Stand Numbers are also given for most of the firms mentioned.

Exhibit: DAT instruments specializes in data acquisition for cement injection, drilling and jet-grouting.

At BAUMA the company will exhibit some of its data acquisition and automation equipment:

JET 4000 AME / I datalogger for grout injections and pile with valves. This equipment can control even four cement pumps at the same time and it records pressure, flow and volume parameters according to time. Its LCD shows in real time the recorded graphics. This datalogger is also able to stop automatically the pumps when pre-established stop conditions are reached: pressure overcoming, volume overcoming or via GIN method. In this way it is possible to save time and to speed up injection processes.

JET 4000 AME / J datalogger for drilling and jet-grouting. This equipment is linked to a drilling equipment and it records all parameters concerning both

drilling and injection phases (jet-grouting). Its LCD shows graphics and values of cement pressure, flow and volume, boring rod depth, feed force and feed speed, boring rod speed and boring rod rotation torque. For this system too there is an automatic stop of the drilling equipment when the pre-established depth is reached. In addition to this it is possible to link to this datalogger a thermal printer to print in

real time all recorded parameters.

JET S 104 software to organize and to print data. Data recorded by both dataloggers can be downloaded on a Windows PC, organized to let them be easily used, printed on paper and exported to Microsoft Excel. If you do not want to use a PC on field, DAT instruments has created a data download system called JET RACK which lets you avoid damage to your PC. This system enables downloading data on a flash card called JET FLASH and it can be downloaded to PC at the office.

Thanks to these equipments, every firm can certificate that its work is done perfectly well, following the specifications agreed with each supervision of works.

In addition to this, thanks to automatisms present in both our JET 4000 AME dataloggers, all injection processes can be carried out saving time. Letting these processes to be automatic, it is also possible to reduce the possibility that human mistakes can occur.
